Pine River Update 7/23/26
Updates after the July 4th flooding:
Rockbridge to SR/80 is clear, giving paddlers the option to take out at D, or continue to SR. 2 to 3.5 hours of paddling under limestone bluffs and through woodlands and farm fields.
SR to AA has not been scouted yet. ‘Treezilla’ from last year has been cleaned up to allow for passage underneath, but there may be other blockages in this section.
AA/Bowen’s Mill to Lions Park is mostly clear, with one easy portage shortly before the takeout. Efforts are on-going to clear this tree and blockages between the Fairgrounds and Krouskop Park.
Krouskop Park to Old Mill Pond Park is open and passable through town.
Sections marked in ORANGE on the map below are not passable at this time.
